I went to a semester school called The Outdoor Academy the fall of my sophomore year (2021). At this school I took a traditional Appalachian craft class that was based around wheel thrown pottery. Twice a week, for two hours, I practiced pottery at this school. When I came back to my highschool at home, I wanted to continue pursuing pottery, but my school did not have a ceramics program. The art teacher at my school said there was an old pottery wheel in the back of one of the art rooms that I could use during my free time so I practiced whenever I could. The next year, I designed an independent study where I practiced pottery every other day and wrote about it in a blog. I have been creating pottery ever since.
My blog contains all the content from my independent study and my most recent work.
